Background

Home Facilities & Infrastructure Southern Space Corridor

From the propulsion test stands of Tullahoma to the launch pads of the Space Coast, the American South has quietly become one of the country's most concentrated regions for space and aerospace infrastructure. Tennessee sits at the northern edge of a corridor that runs through Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida, and Texas — linking research universities, federal test ranges, and manufacturing and launch facilities into a single connected ecosystem.

This map is a working attempt to visualize that corridor: where the research happens, where the hardware gets tested, and where it launches. It's a companion to TN Space's broader mission of positioning Tennessee within — not apart from — this regional network.

Beehive Industries Knoxville, TN

Cosmic Shielding Corp Atlanta, GA
